摘要：An optical traffic preemption detector as shown in Figure 2 for detecting pulses
of light emitted by an approaching emergency vehicle and providing an output signalwhich is processed by a phase selector. The phase selector can request a traffic signalcontroller to preempt a normal traffic signal sequence to give priority to the emergencyvehicle. A detector assembly is mounted in proximity to an intersection and can havemultiple detector channels. A detector channel can have multiple photocells. Thedetector 16 includes a housing having a base 20, at least one detector turret 22, a cap 26,and a detector circuit 62 which further comprises a circuit board, a photocell 65 with alens 64 placed over the photocell, and circuitry 96, 98, 100, and 102 to produce an outputsignal.
