I said nothing more than thanks. When we were in the parkinglot waiting for my husband, Erick asked me:“Mom, do you stillremember what happened in the park last Sunday? It was the veryold man who saved me and gave me a happy time.”It occurred to methat last Sunday when my family were in the park,Fred and I werealways playing with our own phones, leaving Erick running about.Suddenly, he fell into a pool.At that time no one except,the old manfound it.He didn’t hesitate to save Erick out before we knew it.Thenhe played games with Erick.No wonder in the

restaurant,Erickshowed his excitement when he saw the bum.How kind a person hewas! But just now,I treated him like that.I didn’t even offer him ameal.I was ashamed of my attitude to him.

I went back to the resrauran to ask for his forgiveness.I decidedto give him some money in return, but he refused. He said:“you see,Erick has given me his

trust and love,which are the best gifts forme.”Hearing this,I was moved to tears.
