摘要:A lightweight insulating concrete composition includes a cementitious formingmaterial and a lightweight aggregate combination of expanded vermiculite and expandedperlite, the weight ratio of one to the other not exceeding about 2:1. Preferably, thecomposition is about 4 parts by weight cementitious forming material and about 1 partby weight lightweight aggregate. The cementitious forming material may be a hydraulicbinder and accelerator combination, and may be Portland cement, plaster of Paris, andterra alba, in a weight ratio of about 5:4:1, or calcium aluminate cement, and plaster ofParis, in a weight ratio of about 11:5. The composition may further include an air
entraining admixture in an amount between about 0.5 and about 2.0 percent of the totalweight of the mixture, where neutralized vinsol resin and alpha olefin sulfonate areacceptable, and a surfactant in an amount between about 0.3 and about 1.5 percent ofthe total weight of the mixture, where sulfonated melamine and napthalene
formaldehyde are acceptable. A method of making the lightweight insulating concretecomposition includes blending the cementitious forming material and the combination oflightweight aggregate of expanded vermiculite and expanded perlite, and any admixtureor surfactant that may be included. A method of repairing or patching concrete surfaces
using the lightweight insulating concrete, includes hydrating the composition, applyingthe concrete slurry and permitting it to cure for about 2 to about 4 hours until it sets.
