colleges all over China. And it is set to care for girls, with major activities like gift giving and banner love confession. From its meaning and celebration, don’t you think the so-called Girls’ Day is more male concerned than female? It is virtually a festival of schoolboys, an excuse for them to get close with girls, rather than earning attention and care for girls. Seeing in this light, I kind of despise the motivation of this festival.

I know our engineering school has the tradition of boys buying breakfast for girls on Girls’ Day, and it has now become a privilege of the engineering girls. I used to feel jealous of them as well as a girl in nursing major, yet you’ll surely abandon such idea as long as you think about it. Can I say the way boys showing care for girls is a kind of discrimination itself? Why do we girls need them to do us this priceless favor when we can do it ourselves? To be honest, I really hate the value that men have the duty to take care of women, which puts women in the weak place and regards it as a natural thing. Still take the engineering major for example, it is true that the girls are popular now, but is this industry dominated by males already?
