Underwater propeller drive with at least one screw propeller, the blade endsof which are one connected with the other by way of a peripheral ring which receives therotor -excited by a permanent magnet- of an electrical drive motor, the stator of which isaccommodated in the fixedly located part, wherein the gap between rotor and stator isflooded, characterized thereby, that the screw propeller with bearing and electrical driveis detachably installed in the end of a transverse channel portion (19), which is pushableas unit into a side wall opening (16) of a ship as far as the abutment (20) in the fixedlyinstalled pipe tunnel (17), wherein the stator (12) is connected by way of a current cable(21) to a terminal box outside the water region.
