小学英语课堂教学中有效评价方式的实践研究 (阶段小结)

教育部在小学英语指导意见中指出:小学英语教学的目地是培养学生学习英语的兴趣和积极的态度,使其建立英语学习的自信心,培养其具有一定的语感和良好的语音、语调基础,使其形成初步应用英语进行简单的日常交流的能力,为进一步的英语学习打下良好的基础。由此可见英语基础教育阶段教学改革的重点是强调课程从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发。注重培养和激发学生学习的积极性和自信心。因此评价是非常重要的环节,是小学英语教学不可或缺的重要内容,它能对教学全过程和结果进行有效的监控。英语课程标准也十分强调评价的作用,提出通过评价,能使学生在英语课程的学习过程中不断体验进步与成功,认识自我,建立自信,促进学生综合语言运用能力的全面发展;使教师获取英语教学的反馈信息,对自己的教学行为进行反思和适当的调整,促进教师不断提
高教育教学水平;使学校及时了解课程标准的执行情况,改进教学管理,促进英语课程的不断发展和完善。
近几年来我校一直参与上海市愉快教育研究所的学习设计课题研究,几年来,学校坚持参与实践研究。在学习设计中对评价也有高度的重视。专家们们指出:学习评价是伴随学生学习活动而进行的评价反馈活动,它为学生达成学习目标提供监督保障。学习评价的主体既是教师也是学生,它将评价学习目标的达成度、评测学习过程的合理性、评价学习效果和学习投入之间的关系,涉及到学习任务的完成水平、学习态度、学习策略的运用、学习资源的提供、学习情境的创设、学习过程的变通性等多个角度。同时指出了评价的作用:评价有及时反馈的作用;评价有及时矫正的作用;评价有改进后续设计的作用。学习评价的内容:评价学生的知识、技能领域;评价学生的情感、态度领域;评价学生学习的过程、方法领域。以及学习评价的方法:运用激励性言语,实施学习评价;运用文本材料,实施学习评价;运用问题跟进,实施学习评价。
在实际的教学中我们经常会遇到这样或者那样的问题,特别是在评价的问题上,教师们也都有各自不同的想法和观点。评价形式的有效,或者说多样性都与教师的个性,教师接受新鲜事物的能力有关系。不是所有的老师都会赞同相同的评价手段。个性不同,所使用的评价方式也就不同,这也是很自然的事情。本学期,我们各个教研组也在或多或少的展开评价的实践研究。在我看来,教师的评价对于每一个孩子来说,那都是很宝贵的,可能会影响孩子的一生。因此,作为教师的我们千万要用好评价的手段,激励学生努力学好英语。
在英语教学中,我看到过不少英语课中的评价,我也进行了各种各样的评价方式的尝试,也获得了一些经验,获得了不少体验。 1、通过课堂观察,我发现课堂评价中有这样一些情况:
课堂片段1:小学一年级的一节词汇课上,一位男生看着教师单词图片说:“ruler!”,声音响亮,发音准确。教师马上向他竖起两个大拇指,并向全班学生说:“Good,Good,very good!”课堂上马上响起了整齐又响亮的拍掌声。这样的评价课堂上出现了十几次。
课堂片段2:在五年级的课堂上,同桌之间按教师的要求进行pair work,,然后教师请一对学生表演,学生表演后,教师向全班学生说:“Great,great,excellent !”。全班对两个学生说:“Great, great, excellent!”声音不太响亮,也不太整齐。
课堂片段3:一堂二年级的英语课,有个孩子把儿歌读得很好,又生动,
又流利。于是教师就让全班学生表扬他,连续击掌数次,让听课者觉得耳朵都快不行了。
这些现象在听课种可不少见,教师们应该都可以为常了。不知从什么时候起,小学英语课堂掀起一种学生齐声表扬之风,一堂课下来,有不下十余次这样的表扬。开始时,学生们兴趣勃勃,但随着年龄的增长,年级的升高,他们的声音由高到低,掌声也渐渐稀落。究其原因,是因为学生对千篇一律、机械的表扬声方式开始厌倦、感到乏味。因此他们参与评价的积极性便消失了,被评价的学生也感受不到表扬的音悦了。这说明:评价语言和方式不宜单一、机械化。因为这样就会让人感到乏味,无趣极了。 2、前阶段,我们英语教师们尝试着用奖励五角星的方式来激励学生,然后获得十颗五角星的再换物质的奖励,感到学生也比较喜欢这样的形式。然而差的学生永远都收集不到十颗星,对于他们来说实在太遥远的。目标太远,他们就会失去信心了。因此,我想评价也是需要分层次的。
针对教学中的实际情况,我在课堂中、课堂后都进行了不同的尝试,也获得了一些较有效的评价策略: 一、 课堂上的评价 1、 教师的评价:
教师要根据不同层次的活动对学生的课堂表现进行评价。也就是根据学生参加活动与任务的难易程度进行评价。例如,对读单词、指图片等简单练习,教师只需对学生回答正确与否作出评价就可以,对描述图片、人物、场景、事件或自编对话表演性等综合能力要求较高的任务进行评价时,表扬的力度就可以大一些,除了口头赞赏外,还可以增加其他形式和奖励,必竟大家都认为:物以稀为贵。
新课程引入形成性评价的理念与方法指在激发学生的学习兴趣,并通过教师的评价让学生认识自我,从而有效地自我调控,不断发展。
我们将常会在学习过程中,发现学生机械性错误,那么教师可以立即纠正,但不要说:“No”或“You’re wrong!”等负面评价的语言,以免挫伤学生的自尊心,可以用“Good, but…”“Can you say it again?”或“Say after me, please”等进行鼓励和纠正。
当学生进行侧重语言流利性的练习时,在不影响意义表达的情况下,只要学生能连贯说话,完整表达自己的想法与意见,教师就不宜打断学生的话语对其进行纠错了。这时教师宜推迟评价,用正确的表达或把学生的话重复一遍,对其接受正确的语言示范,并让其重复正确的语言表达形式就可以了。也可以要求其它学生给予帮助,以吸引学生注意力,培养互助、
协作能力,或用鼓励性的话语让学生再尝试一次,例如:Take it easy! Think it over, please!从而让学生自然地接受教师的纠正。在对待学生错误时,教师只要尊重并理解学生,营造一种民主和谐的课堂氛围,宽容对待他们的错误,给他们提供时间与空间认识错误并改正错误,他们才能正确地面对自己的错误与不足,反思自己的学习,并在教师同学的帮助下积极地进行自我调控。
我们按照愉快所的要求将评价分为:激励性评价和反馈性评价。 ⑴ 激励性评价:
在教学中教师可以经常用肢体语言和体态进行鼓励评价。言出自心,教师只要真心真意尊重每一个学生,就会创造出各种生动的、赞赏性或鼓励性的语言。这些话就像“兴奋剂”使学生精神振奋,信心高涨;也像一股暖流,让他们感受到教师的温情,满足他们的成就感,使课堂气氛更热烈。在英语课堂教学过程中,我比较注重运用体态语言(如手势、眼神、面部表情、人际距离和自身动作等)向学生传递关爱的信息,对引起学生的求知欲望,调节课堂气氛,创设温馨的学习环境等起到积极的辅助作用。 我还会经常更换奖品:精美的书签、甜甜的巧克力、美丽的粘纸、漂亮的棒棒糖、特别的小糖果、精致的小铅笔等等,都是学生喜欢的,他们会很在意这样的评价激励。低年级学生还是要从兴趣入手。
有时候,学生回答得出色时,我还会跟他击掌一次,或者拥抱一个,不要小看这样的动作,学生还真是喜欢呢!
我还尝试过将手中的快板给孩子,让他们读得好的孩子用一用,这也是学生喜欢的激励性评价。 ⑵ 反馈性评价:
学习设计中要求评价要有反馈性的,这虽然比较适合高年级,但是在低年级语段训练时也很需要的,看看学生在这样的环节中是否学会了编小语段,编得好的可以让他做做小老师。 2、 评价的分层:
学生中必然存在着个性差异,但我们要让每一个学生的个性得到发展,发现其闪光点,激发学生的兴趣和积极性。针对不同层次的学生采用不同的评价方式。比如当一个学习能力不是很优秀的学生或平时不太注意学习的学生回答问题时,即使答得不是很理想,教师应对学生的态度进行表扬,当优秀学生回答问题时,教师有必要严格要求,引导并鼓励学生答得更好。这样才能使落后的学生重拾学习的兴趣和信心,使优秀的学生取得更大的进步。
3、 学生的评价:
学生的评价往往体现在小组合作朗读或者完成某个指定的任务时,组长可以对组员进行评价,希望组员再接再厉,完成得更好。但是有的孩子对组长的评价可能不会服气,虽然二年级的学生还比较小,但是也有自己的主见。此时,教师就应当巡视,及时给与指导。我就曾经遇到过一个孩子,在小组讨论完成自创儿歌时,他觉得自己编得很好,可是组长却不这样认为,所以不予采纳,就发生了不愉快的事情,这个孩子赌气,不参加创编活动了,在一边坐着。我发现了就过去解围,于是我肯定了这个孩子的积极表现,并采纳了他编的一句儿歌,这样她又高兴地参与活动了。所以在学生间的评价时,教师也不能放手不管了,要引导好。
但是同一小组评价方式无论多有趣,如果使用时间过程太长,或过于频繁,学生都会厌烦。所以教师应不断变换评价方式。今天爬楼梯,明天用颜色分组,后天用任务展示,再学生互动式语言描述评价。让学生在各种方法评价中获得新鲜感、愉快感,每个人都能从中体验到语言学习的成功与乐趣。
二、 课堂后的评价
这里的课后评价有三层意思:一是家长评价,家长也是教育评价的主体,因为家长既是教育活动的直接参与者,也是教育结果的重要责任者。家长根据小孩在家的学习情况、完成作业等给予评价或写出评语,这是对学生课堂学习效果的一个有力评价。学生每天都有听读的作业,为了让家长很好的配合孩子完成作业,我就要求他们为孩子签名,打分,这是家长参与学习评价的重要过程。二组长评价,有的学生前一天作业上忘记让家长签名,打分了。于是,我就让组长来当一回家长,组员读给组长听,让组长当一回家长,进行打分,签名。尝试下来,这个办法很不错的。三是学生的书面练习情况,教师会给出正确的评价。
