There are various ways for a student to finance his college education. If the student is excellent in his studies, he can apply for scholarship. Most universities set up scholarship to offer money to poor students who do well in entrance exams and reward those who have outstanding performance in college either academically or in student associations. A student can also choose to turn to a bank for low-interest loans to pay his way through university, which he can repay after graduation. “Save it for rainy day.” That is my motto. When I have a choice between spending my money and putting it in my savings account, I’d like to put it in the bank since I will have a lot of expenses in the future like education, travel, and unforeseen emergencies. I need to have money set aside for these expenses.
Education is expensive. I can’t depend on my parents to pay all the bills. I’ll try to get a scholarship to cover some of these costs. Therefore, if I spend my money now, I won't be able to pay for my education. I need to save money for it.
Expenditure on transportation is also quite large. I have to travel between the college and my hometown now and then on important festivals and occasions. Going back and forth will be costly, but it is worth the money.
Emergencies could come at any moment. I might have an unexpected illness while at school. There might be costs that won't be covered by the school
insurance. You can’t predict emergencies like this, but you can be prepared.
When you are not rich, you cannot spend your money at free. You must plan ahead. I know that I will have expenses for schooling and traveling, and that I will have unexpected expenses related to unforeseen emergencies, so I must be prepared. I have to save money for the future.
