摘要:A temperature compensating system (10) for a closed system, such as dampingsystem (12), in which fluid is subject to temperature increases and acocmpanying volumeincreases. The temperature compensation system provides a compressible member (40)within a temperature compensation volume, and a barrier (46) restricting the entry offluid to the volume. When the fluid volume increases as a result of temperatureincreases, fluid seeps past the barrier into the temperature compensation volume tocompress the compressible member and thus increase the total volume available to thefluid in the closed system. The increased volume reduces pressure buildup that wouldotherwise occur, and thereby tends to maintain a steady pressure within the closedsystem. Dynamic or high speed fluid flows are restricted by the barrier or otherrestriction, inhibiting such flows from passing into the volume. The barrier or otherrestriction thus tends to prevent the temperature compensating system from interferingwith normal functioning of the system while maintaining a steady internal pressuretherein.
