Step 1: Warm-up & Lead-in
1. Greetings.
2. Enjoy the song—Phonics song. ① (出示课件) Students listen to the song and sing along with it. 3. Lead-in.
Show a picture on the PPT. (课件出示:一只鸟受伤的图片) T: What’s this? Ss: It’s a bird.
T: Look! What’s wrong with the bird? Ss: It’s hurt.
T: Who can help the bird? Now let’s listen.
Teaching purpose①
欣赏歌曲《Phonics song》,营造英语语音教学氛围,复习26个字母的发音,为本课后面的学习做铺垫。然后由师生间的自由对话自然导入新课。
Write down the words “bird” and “hurt” on the blackboard.
Write “ir” and “ur” in red chalk. Step 2: Presentation
1. Listen to the chant.
Play the recording of the chant. (出示课件) Let students listen to the chant for the first time.
T: Who can help the bird? Ss: The little girl.
Show the picture on the PPT. (课件出示:小女孩救助鸟的图片)Write down the word “girl” on the blackboard. Write “ir” in red chalk.
Then ask the next question.
T: How can the girl help the bird? Ss: Take the bird to the nurse.
Show the picture on the PPT. (课件出示:护士图片)
Write down the word “nurse” on the blackboard. Write “ur” in red chalk.
T: Look! The bird gives a hamburger to the nurse as a gift. (出示课件)
Write down the word “hamburger” on the blackboard. Write “ur” in red chalk.
2. Read and find.
Play the recording again. (出示课件)
Students read the words and perceive the pronunciation of the words.
3. Summarize the pronunciation rule②.
Lead students to summarize the pronunciation rule.
T: The letter combinations “ir” and “ur” both pronounce /ɜː / in these words.
4. Read the chant.
Present the text content of the chant. (出示课件) Let students read the chant by themselves and pay attention to the words that have “ir” or “ur”.
5. Read and practice.③
Students try to read the example words in the first part of “Let’s spell”.
Show some new words (girl, bird, birth, first, thirty, hurt, nurse, hamburger, turn, burn) on the PPT. Let students try to read them. (出示课件).
