作名词,有“介绍;用法说明”之意,常用复数。如:

★appear + to do。如:Mother appears to be talking to herself. 妈妈似乎在自言自语。

一、if表示“如果;假如”的意思时,常引导条件状语从句。
二、if从句既可放在主句之前,也可放在主句之后。从句在前,主句在后时,主从句之间要用逗号隔开;主句在前,从句在后时,主从句之间不用标点符号。
三、在“祈使句+ if从句”或“if从句+陈述句”中,if从句中通常用一般现在时。
四、特别注意
在英美人说或写的正规英语句子中,一般要把名词放在主句中,而把代词放在从句中。所以,将英语翻译成汉语时要把英语中的代词译成相应的名词,把名词译成相应的代词。再如:After he had left college, my brother went abroad for higher studies. 我哥哥大学毕业后,他出国深造去了。
