You may have seen foreigners climb the Great Wall, but have you ever seen foreigners pick up garbage in the Great Wall? And he has done this thing for more than 20 years! He’s an Englishman, William Lindesay. Since 1998, William has organized volunteers from all over the world to pick up garbage from the Great Wall every year.
Today, William has been in China for more than 30 years, during which he founded an organization to pick up garbage. He wanted to make people pay more attention to the environment of the Great Wall.

October 1st is the National Day in China. But this year was even more special. It was the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In this special festival, people of the whole country were proud of the National Day military parade.
The military parade took place in Beijing on Oct 1st. And it included around fifteen thousand military persons. The level of the parade was the highest in recent years. It had a total of 59 formations and a military band, including more than 160 aircraft and 580 pieces of equipment in the parade. The parade lasted for about 80 minutes.
Meanwhile, the parade included two parts. First, the troops were reviewed along Chang’an Avenue, then other formations and aircraft passed through or flied across Tian’anmen Square. Besides, a selection of new weapons played an important role in the parade. All the weapons in the parade were made in China and it was in active service with a high level of IT application. The military parade this year was the first of its kind since Chinese characteristics socialism entered a new period.
Over the last 70 years, with the improving military strength, China has made great contributions to the world. The stronger the country is, the more important role it will play in keeping world peace.
